1.7 rrs
1.7 rrs
I have tried the search and have come up with a few different answers. My next mod will be valvetrain and i think i just want to do roller rockers. I have read about the 1.7 ratio and i just want to know what all is involved in putting them on as opposed to doing 1.6. Do springs need to be replaced, if so which ones will work? Do i need new pushrods/locks/seats/guide plates? Any information will be awesome. Thanks
Rob

Here is what I used to install mine: (original post is here)
So in short, yes you will need to replace springs, locks, retainers, pushrods, and use guideplates (I also had to replace lifters because one of them failed from the added stress of the 1.7s).

Re: 1.7 rrs
Thanks a lot for this, i will be planning on doing this this summer.
I have two questions though...
1) Does this require any specific tuning (as opposed to just ordering a chip(my car is a 1993))?
2) How or where do I buy these LT4 valve covers/accessories from?
Thanks

Re: 1.7 rrs
No specific tuning is required. It ran fine with a stock tune, and even better with MadZ28's tune.
I bought the LT4 valve covers from Jason Cromer. His contact info can be found on Shoebox's Website.
