1.7 rockers with this cam?

XE 230/236 with ported heads.

I don't know how much they milled the heads. I'm guessing 5-10 thousandths.

Can I run 1.7 rockers?

Will I need an AFR Rev kit?

Well with the 1.7's you'd be looking at .578 intake and .589 lift. If the heads weren't milled too much and you've got the springs to handle the lift, I don't see why it wouldn't work. You will definitely need to check your valvetrain geometry though. Make dang sure you've got the correct length pushrods and check your piston to valve clearance.

How do I check the piston to valve clearance?

Is there a general rule of thumb about how much shorter the pushrods should be?

Unless he milled a lot off the heads I doubt it will be a problem.

The only thing you should check in the valve train geometry to make sure the rockers are on the center of the stem and not rolling over the edge.

Color the tip of the stem with a felt marker. Run the motor for a minute and then check to see where the rocker sits on top of the stem.
