1.65 RR install completed....Brakes feel weaker

Well, after 2 weeks waiting on parts I finally got the Harland Sharp 1.65 RR's installed. The first thing I noticed was my brakes were really weak. Like I had little fluid pressure. I have to press the pedal to the floor to come to a stop. All the lines are hooked up btw. When the stock arms were in there all was fine. The brakes felt no different. I must of past some threshold for the brakes.

How does rocker arm ratio play into vaccuum? I am assuming that is what I have lost to cause the brakes to be mushy.

What kind of intake manifold vacuum are you seeing?

You may have a vacuum leak somewhere.

With my new cam I'm pulling 12" Hg @ idle, and it's just enough to operate the brakes safely.

Thanks fo the replys guys. Would it be just as accurate to use Datamaster to determine my intake vaccum? If I remember correctly it gives me BAR and MAP. I think BAR-MAP=VAC doesn't it?
I just wanted to ask first.

Yes, BAR - MAP = vacuum.

Thxs, here is a file if you could take a sec to look at it.
I recorded it while keeping the car in park.
http://www.angelfire.com/ultra2/z28/

I noticed that my MAP is higher at idle then when I rev the motor. This file shows this. I held the thottle while in park and the MAP drops about 20kpa and stays there. When I go back to idle, the MAP goes back up.

This was happening before the RR install btw. I just think now it may have added to previous problem. Any thoughts?

Datamaster shows me at about 14 in Hg at idle and drops to about 8 in Hg when I hold a 2000-2500 rev. I was just wondering why I have lower vaccum at idle but I get some of it back the second I touch the gas.

You need to post the file in ".csv" format, so those of us without DataMaster can look at it. There is an "export as .csv" option in DM.
