? 1.6 SA Comp. rockers
? 1.6 SA Comp. rockers
I was reading a post last week and someone stated you could not use the Comp. pro-mag 1.6 SA rockers with beehive springs and cam over .500 lift, not wanting to hi-jack the post. Now I need the ans. to that statement. I called Comp. they said no one had reported that prob. I just received a complete kit with the XFI 280 cam, if the 1.6's SA's do not work with the beehives I need to know before I open any box. Any fact to this from anyone that has used the set-up and had a prob.? 94 LTI Danny Mc

I'm not sure about the issue your talking about but I do remember reading something like that. What most guys will tell you though is to use some better parts now, so you don't wind up doing certain things over again. Forget the SA rockers and go with the NSA 7/16 rockers. Use ARP 7/16 rocker studs. Also use guide plates and a nice set of pushrods. Do some searching and you'll see what most guys and girls are using.
Hey Z I think what he is refering to is the guides hitting the retainer for the Bees. I usually use the Crane SA's, no prob. I am not using the 10 deg. locks +.50. I've got brand new 986's on hds. now but they won't work with the XFI 280, this is getting to be a money pit. I buy a lot of parts from Comp., talk to them often, they said no prob. but apparently someone has. As luck would have it this is my eng. have had many glitches, wish now I had gone with the solid roller set-up that I usually install. oh well!! BTW I totally agree there are better parts out there.
