Is there a clear consensus on who makes the best rockers, springs & other associated hardware, like there is for headers(Kooks)? What kind of money are we talking to do rockers, and whatever else goes along with doing rockers? I haven't really researched this yet. I'm going to have to do some searches.
Seriously, if you are afriad of losing power down low, stop being a bitch and cam it. Your gonna regret it later.
Some cams out there that dont lope at all, youd never know its there, but it pulls stronger across the board. And cams as large as the CC503 HAVE passed emissions. The LT4 Hot Cam passes emissions.
If the car is tore down that much, do it. Youll regret it later if you dont.

Hello and new to the forum,
Just purchased a realatively low mileage 95 A4 Z28, with Blown Head Gaskets. Since the heads are coming off, I have decided to mildly port and polish, slight bowl clean-up and gasket match. I am also installing a set of stock size stainless valves. The car will be an 1-2 day a week driver, used primarily for enjoyment on the numerous curvy roads in the area. More road car than drag car, with eye towards improved performance without sacrificing realiability or installing a hi-stall converter.
Do not realy want to change out the cam, but wanted opinions on 1.6 RR's with stock cam and mods below for a few more HP. I have the option of adding better (double) valve springs to the heads for a few bucks if needed.
Thanks for helping out the New Lt1 guy, looking forward to reporting results.

Adding the 1.6s would be nice, but there are many small cams out there that would give you some better low end grunt, and still drive like stock.
One last thing, don't be affraid to put a quality small converter in it. Something like a vig. 2800 or a Yank 3200.
If your going with new valves, why not put some 2.00 and 1.56s in? They'll fit on the stock seats. Clean up the ports as you mentioned, concentrate on the bowl work, nice valve job and forget the gasket match.
