1.6 RR w/out new springs

My friend just ordered 1.6 rr's for his 96 Z28 and I was wondering if it was ok to put these on w/out putting heavier springs on there? Also about how long should it take me???
BTW: I'm very mechanicly inclined so I don't think it should be too difficult!

Me too. It's so easy to just change the springs at the same time. And you can pick up a set of LT4s for around $50.

Lots of guys who buy the Hot cam kit, opt for better springs. I see brand new LT4s in various for sale sections all the time. From $30 to $50. You don't need retainers. You can reuse your factory hardware. The LT4s are fine for a stock cam and 1.6s. Also you could check with some of the GM online discount guys like Dal.
