Questions for those with O/R pipes

Ok my exhaust set up right now is stock except flowmaster 80s series muffler. What I want to have done is a bolt in/out O/R pipe and then have the shop make my cat the same way so I can exchange the two in just a few minutes.
I'm wondering how your cars sound with O/R pipes? Is it raspy or fairly clean? How much louder is it than having a cat? Probably not as loud as a cutout I am guessing...

someone has misled you my son!!! No cats = loud as he11 my LT1 screams at WOT!!! My little brothers extreme S-10 (4.3 liter) screams with no cats as well! It is a higher pitch but I love it!!! Mine is not raspy either?

Oh I love loud... no doubt there... so that's a huge plus... but I was wondering what kind of loud. Like what it can be compared to.
Cause I talk to a guy with a Cobra that had em and he had flowmaster too and his car sounded bad ***... yeah loud for sure but not insane.

How much did that cost you to do that?
