1.6 RR valve cover clearancing

ok guys, im runnin the pro mags on 7/16th studs, i cut the braces like shown from shoebox, everything seemed to go well on the drivers side.. studs didnt hit and i dont think none of the rockers did either, i turned the crank.. no noise ..... BUT the other side with the baffle i am confused on... it is def not going to work with the baffle in it so i pulled the inside guts out and squished it together a bit with the channel locks... it does not hit now however wont oil travel up through that hose that runs to the throttle body and nasty it all up with no baffle....

Has anybody been here before, all advice appreciated

When I did mine all I did was cut one side of the triangle brace. Didn't mess with the baffle.

I squeezed the baffle with a pair of channel locks too, but didn't have to modify it other than that.

I had to gut the inside of the cover to clear the RR and I disconnected the hose, and put a breather; that solves the problem

However, I also had to remove the tubes where each bolt goes through and it's been leaking oil around the bolt heads for years. Never found a good solution.

I have that same problem about removing the tubes where the bolts go through. I have an oil leak because the oil seeps through the bolts now. I gotta get a new set of stock valve covers and clearance them the right way.

I tried rubber washers without luck. The one thing I have not tried that could work is maybe some kind of sealant in a tube, like the permatex stuff.

One option is to switch from centerbolt covers to perimeter bolt covers. Someone sells adapters. One advantage to this is that you could use taller covers and run stud girdles on the rocker studs....
