1.6 rocker help

i want to run a set of 1.6 rockers on a stock heads/cam car but i need help with a couple of things.

-if i run self aligning rockers, would you suggest running with some comp 7/16 studs or are the stock ones fine?i will be running lt4 springs, retainers, and locks.

-if i run nsa rockers what afe the pros/cons of these rockers?what else would i need to run nsa's?

thanks.

For nsa rockers you will need guideplates. GM p/n 14011051.
7/16 studs are not necessary but if you can spare the extra cost, why not?

Re: 1.6 rocker help

i finally found some stuff from the search, and i think im going with stock rocker studs, and probally some SA rockers, but has there ever been a proven hp advantage over sa to nsa's, i heard that they are more reliable, but is there a hp advantadge with the nsa's???

Re: 1.6 rocker help

I would go ahead and get some ARP hardened studs. I actually broke 2 or 3 of the stock studs when I installed 1.6 rockers and valve springs.

Re: 1.6 rocker help

I would replace the spring as you would be pushing the stock springs to the absolute limit. A little abuse and you could easily break or fatigue a spring.
