Canton - I'm not trying to diss you, but I think you underestimate how much of a role traction can play in trap speed, especially with a high torque car. I only gave a couple of examples, you only mentioned your drag racing resume, and numerous times. I expect you wouldn't believe this, especially if you have been racing for a long time, and have used slicks for many years. You understand that it is basically worthless to try and run a high hp car on radials.
On your last post, you said he shouldn't race it until he checks some things. If you look at my first post, I said to put it on a dyno first. I am curious though, say he does, and it makes 380 rwhp and 420 rwtq, what would your reasoning be then?

You all say there must be something wrong with it, but did any of you drive it? He said it spun every time he got on it. By your reasoning, if I were to look at Realquicks timeslip when he ran 108.8 with a 2.3 60'. 356 RWHP, hmm, might want to have that looked at. My car went 106 with a 2.3 60' and only 300 rwhp. 2 mph from 50 rwhp, I'd say there is something DEFINITELY wrong with his car.
SJS - PLEASE put it on a dyno, or put some slicks on it and let it ride. I want to see a low 12 or high 11. I think its got it in it.

Your traction doesn't look that bad to me and you trapped 82 in the 1/8 which matches up with your quarter trap which tells me that you were probably in it the whole way downt the track. A 2.2 60' is not really a bad 60' and i highly doubt you were having that big of a traction problem in a 105 mph car. And once you were out of first gear i doubt you spun at all! Brain you are on crack thinking he is going to gain 5-10mph just by hooking up a little bit better than he did!

I actually appreciate the negative feedback more than the positive but you gotta be kidding me. But saying I'm making sh*t up is another. Why would I come here and try to get my car going good if I'm gonna bullsh*t, that wont help any. Better yet...I tell you what. Ask Superadobo808 since you don't believe me. He was sitting behind me on the line. Actually you must not know much at all to say a 2.2 60' with a stroker isnt bad. If I didn't spin at all out of first gear than how is it I almost went into the next lane causing the MACH1 to pull back just before the 1/8 marker. Gimme a break man. Why did you even reply if you aint trying to help.

ROFL, you are such a newbie. I highly doubt you spun that bad and still went 13.8@105. How does having a stroker have anything to do with your 60' times if you are on street tires or even dr's? sucks to have a slow car doesn't it?

its plain and simple, if you cant go WOT until the 1/8 mile., you are not going to have an accurate et or mph.

i had the same problem last year, no traction at all on street tires, i ran 14.1 at 105 (2.48 sixty foot), the very same night i dynoed 356rwhp/349rwtq.
with a raceweight of 3540 with me in the car.

i should have trapped a lot more than 105 with those #....

Sorry read sig! sucks to be slow. BTW, you just seemed like a *****, so that is the only reason i dissed you. I am sure you will go faster when you get everything working right, but right now your not making the power you think you are based on the times you posted. I really don't care if i seem like a tool or not incase you haven't noticed. I really don't post on this bored nor do I really care to. I am more of a lurker.

well, if you read my first post, i was in the staging lanes right behind S.J.S. when he had his 13.8 run. i can vouch for everything that he's been saying if anyone wants to call bull sh*t. why would anyone want to call bull on someone whos running as bad times as he is? i could see calling bull on someone with a stock f-body running 9's. i cant see someone bsing awful times on a 383. thats just dumb. S.J.S is on here looking for help and constructive criticizm, not stupid comments like yours kreinmc you fairy a$$ lurker. lol.

The major reason for the low mph was the track conditions. It rained inthe morning so it was damn humid out. I showed that example because even with poor weather and spinning all the way to the 1/8th, I still trapped just under 109mph. He should have a more rwhp and a ton more rwtq than me. I wanted to show that despite spinning he should atleast be around 110mph.

I agree with taking it to the dyno. He vcan see how much hp/tq and also figure out at what rpm to shift

I hear ya on the traction issues, for an example I went to the track two weekends in a row and had great differences in my times, the first weekend I went I was lucky to get a tenth close to the 2.0 60 foot, I was spinning into second even lifting and reapplying the gas, I ran best of 12.5 112.8 with a 2.2 60 foot time. This was with M/T sportsman pros and stock WS6 rims and tires up front. One run that day was really horrible, I ran a 12.8 @ 109.2 with a 2.2 60 foot and that was the worst spinning run. my 1/8th on my best that day was an 8.2 at 87 mph and my wort on the worst run was a 8.6 @ 84 mph.

The next weekend I went , I added M/T E.T. streets, removed the front swaybar and that was it, the temps and conditions were almost identical, and I ran a best of 11.89 @ 115.3 mph , a 1.91 60 foot, and an /8th of 7.82 @ 91 mph. the hook gave me almost a second and letting the car do the shifting (had selector in "3" was only differnce. (besides tires and S/B) my best 60 foot of the day was a 1.78, but I shifted manually again and bounced off the rev limiter on the 1-2 and the 2-3 and lost about 5 tenths. and 3 mph.

The first weekend I was sorely disapointed with my car but now I feel ok.
