Holeshot him hard and don't look back. I pulled my buddy's 2000 GT (catback only) pretty solid.

If your Z is running right and u can drive you shouldnt lose.
The automatic Z28's are pretty damn consistent in there ET's... so if he cant drive stick well then he's at a big disadvantage.

Re: 04 GT vs my LT1?

thanks guys it should b interesting..heres my full list of mods

94 Z28 A4 3:23 96k miles on body and engine..3rd rebuilt 4l60e 10K on that

keep in mind the car has always been HIGHLY taken care and never abused..maintence has always been at the utmost

Intake: 2brand new K&Ns and SLP CAI to a descreened MAF to a trick flow elbow and air foil.

Cooling: TB bypass/2 bottles water wetter/160 thermo/PCM set to turn fans on at 180/190 plus i have manual switch for them in dash

PCM: LT4 KM/basic tune from Ion (leaning it out up top knock des. line pressure raised etc..)

Exhaust: Mac mid 1 5/8 headers to 2.5" y pipe with a 3" cutout at the end of y pipe to 3" carsound cat and hooker catback.

decently new tires

tranny: stock 60E with 10K on rebuild line pressure raised a little (shifts good and firm in all gears) very strong...also has 24K B&M cooler on it

the car runs a constant 165-170 coolant wise but can reach a constant 160 on a cold day cruising

tranny never goes over 150 and tends to run at 120-130

best et was a 13.7 with a 2.1 60 i know she has better than that

im guessing 295 at the wheels?

your quess's..thanks

Re: 04 GT vs my LT1?

Not 295 through an auto i dont think. Maybe like 280. I could be wrong though. You should definately take him. I took a cammed, geared, intake, and a few other bolt ons 00gt with my few mods. Had about 4 car lengths by 110mph and im an auto was 2.73s. I believe he said his car ran a 13.2 so if that's the best they can do cammed (he didnt have headers), I'm not impressed.
