02 Z06 Cam and LT1
Re: 02 Z06 Cam and LT1
If you going to have a custom cam ground get it so it works with what you have. It would make no sense to me to put a zo6 cam profile in an lt1.

Re: 02 Z06 Cam and LT1
Profiles of the camshafts for the LSx seem to be very different from the cams for the LTx engines. The heads and the intake manifold of the LS1 are superior as cast, therefore they allow for the use of cams with tighter LSAs and moderately higher-lift. I believe the Z06 cam has a 116* LSA, which wouldn't be very optimal for a LTx engine.

The cylinder heads are about as different as they get. They both have one intake and exhaust valve.. that's about where the similarities end.
The Z06 cam was designed with the cylinder head and valvetrain (springs, valves, everything) in mind. It was likely a compromise on power and emissions.

I think you are trying to be creative.... But as said before, the engines are too different.
