Ok I need help with mods

Ok I ended up losing to a turboed civc hatch with a prelude motor swap. I don't want this **** to happen again, kinda embaressing if you know what i mean. My mods are, hypretech 3, airfoil, ported maf end, alum drivshaft, hurst shifter. his mods where, 99 prelude motor, garret turbo, greedy exhaust, and no back seat or passenger seat. looking like he stripped his interior. lost by a car lenght. I need more power, anybody out there please help fellow fbody owner out. I have a cutout but i never got it installed would that help me all.

The things you call mods are giving you maybe an additional 10hp at this moment (and that is an optimistic guess). Start with installing that cut-out, then go get a set of headers (long-tubes if emissions are not a concern), and you should be in good shape if you only got beaten by a car length the last time.

Yeh the mods you have arent very much in hp terms. Get you a set of headers, CAI, bigger TB, a bigger MAF, 160 degree thermostat, short shifter......etc....ect. You get the picture. oh and go out there and keep practicing b/c even if you lose you learn somthing new from each race.

The MAF and TB aren't going to do a thing for you. There are people making 500+ hp with the stock MAF.

CAI and Headders and a cutout would be a great place to start. Maybe some suspension if you have enough $$. LCA's would help your launch.

I'd say that Civic hatch would fly though. With a H22 and a turbo those things aren't slow.....

But some LTs and CAI would be a good place to start

If I had to do it all over again my firstmod would have been nitrous. No other mod has as much bang forthe buck. And if set up properly it is the safest type of forced induction available. And bolt ons only arent gonna get you faster than a well tuned turbo hatchback civic. They are just lethal as light as they are. I've been thinking about one for my next project car.

well its a ws6 formula, so i have the ram air setup, and will the cutout make that big of a difference on the ws6 exhaust. I was looking at 94/95 mac headers with a high flow cat.

You should go with Jet-Hot Longtubes, I have those headers on my car and love them

Headers.... Preferably Long Tubes, that would have won you that race right there.

Re: Ok I need help with mods

start out with CAI then headers and catback. That should easily put you past the hatch.

Oh and you have to be careful about those hatches.... i ran into one about a year ago that sounded ALOT like yours, down here in Texas, and he gave me a run for my money.... Like I said, some headers and a more free flowing catback and you are good to go. Your stock ram air is pretty good, as long as you are not running stock filter, so do the full exhaust work and then find that guy!

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I have a cutout but i have to wait untill i get my emmisions done. That away i can get it installed after i pass. Btw i don't think longtubes are my thing since i do plan on lowering it just alittle.

Well if you are planning on lowering it then i would suggest my headers. Arizona Speed and Marine 1 3/4 midlengths with ypipe. Flow almost as well as long tubes... maybe thats why they costed about the same!? Anyways, a cutout will not make you fail emmissions, as long as you put it after the cat, anyways, you would have to cap it up for the inspection either way, it bypassing the muffler and all . It isnt hard to cap it up, only takes about 2 min tops.
