Question 02 engine code

I just got finished installing my exhaust on friday and decided to do all the usual upgrades that go along with headers.

So my question is, I let my car run for a half hour with out the front 02 sensors in and never once got a SES light. Now I did get my computer programmed to take care of the EGR, AIR and CATS SES. I was under the thought that if my fron 02's were not in then there would be a light.

Is this normal or did the guys who flashed my computer [edit] up?

I appreciate the help Thanks.

What code are we talking about here? Are your front o2's in or not. They should be.

Re: 02 engine code

After i installed the headers i ran them for about 20-30 min so that I would not burn them up. I never got a code while running no front 02's. This is why i am asking did somebody mess something up. Shouldn't there be a good thrown if there are no 02's present?

Re: 02 engine code

From what I understand, when you start youre engine your PCM runs a check of certain areas but not all of them, then later after some time it will do another check of other areas checked and not checked. It's possible that your PCM didn't check the O2 at start up, I bet the SES light would have come on eventually.

If im wrong someone please correct me, this is something I hear and am just repeating.
