Exclamation [need info fast] question on hooker headers?

okay - long story short - have car going through salvage inspection - manifold is cracked so gonna replace with shorty headers- got offer on table for brand new Hooker super competition emission legal headers (#2064) with Y pipe, fully coated in&out with the Jet Hot sterling silver finish.... and at a really good price- question is - for inspection i need to know if these will bolt up to the factory Y-pipe to get me through....?

does anyone know?

thanx

I believe SLP shorty headers for 96-97 dual cat cars will hook up to the stock y-pipe. Actually I think they don't even come with a y-pipe you have to use your stock one or buy an aftermarket one.

okay - forgive me if i sound really dumb in asking this but my camaro is 6 hours away right now and i thought i understood the factory exhuast but in looking aroudn online i just got confused -

Y-pipe - does this unbolt from the cats? where exactly are they located- cause i thought the cats were on the Y-pipe - hence offroad y-pipe... the headers offered are coming with a new y-pipe but was told listed as single cat from hooker- which i know my car is dual cat..

guess what im asking - when i say y-pipe i mean i need the factory cats?

im confused - someone help me
