Its definately not normal. The gasket would bend up and warp in that spot in oooooh about 2 seconds if I had to make a guess

Scratch that, Trans Am driver just went and looked and its suppose to be there. That seems very screwy to say that least

Ya know, If the crack isn't that bad you can have it welded, I've done that in the past
