What he said. Give the car what it wants, not what you thing it wants. The ecm does what you tell it to do, so the ecm learns very little on its own.
And yes your IAC counts should be around 20 to 40 counts with the car in gear, meaning you need to put a load on the motor. Adjust the throttle blades with the adjustment screw on the TB a 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time start the car and allow it to go into closed loop then put car in gear and monitor IAC counts and TPS volts. Also adjust TPS to .56 volts after every adjustment, your idle will be a little higher than stock. But you have to remember your car is not stock.
What you are doing is; compensating for the cam over lap (reversion). The intake and exhaust valve being open at the sametime. So stock idle settings will not work to good and that's why your car shuts off when you put it gear. I hope this helps!

Fug. It's not as easy as everyone makes it seem. Ill try again but my iac's start off so high and the lowest I ever got them was 39. Then I screwed up and it shot up again. Then they started in the 100's and slowlly worked thier way down to the 60's and stayed. I hate this car.
