*HELP* Just finished cam swap, only 2 cylenders are firing!!!

I just got my PCU back from bryan today, and tryied to start my car after the long winter work. I did a 224/230 cam, lifters, springs, pushrods, timing set, opti, electric water pump, long tubes, new 02s, plugs and OVC wires. The car will barely jun and just stutters, and i felt each header tube after it ran for a few seconds and only number one and number 5 are hot. Everything else is cold. I have checked grouds, and started checking each plug for spark, but i have to go work. Any ideas on what else to look at when i get home? Help me!

Also, does it matter what way the crank balancer and hub are put on? I remember i didnt line up the arrow with anything, i just put it on and cranked it down.

hmmm....

1) timing chain on wrong
or
2) opti on wrong
or
3) crossed plug wires

or all the above

start checking from 3 to 1

The wires are all routed correctly, i have to check them later to make sure each one is sparking. I REALLY dont want to get back to the opti , but i guess i dont have a lot of options. I could swear i did it right!!! Also, i have a vacum line going right from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator. Thats how its supposed to be? I removed the EGR and the AIR, so i pulled of those vacum solenoid things on each side of the intake, i hope they have nothing to do with the important stuff!

The crank gear had 3 sets of dots on it, for retarded and advanced. Im pretty sure i picked the right one, but i really dont want to have to go that deep back into her!

well you see i bought the cam used and i dotn have the cam card for it. Its a CC EX 224/230 also known as a CC503. I started pulling everything apart, the waterpump is out, and i am making my way back to the opti to check it. If it is wrong, then i have to pullthe timing cover

I was goin to suggest resetting the lash also. but my next guess was the opti not lined up properly. the crank gear should have had 3 notches, but only one dot. usually there is a square, a triangle, and the dot (zero). any of them should let the car run, just change performance drastically. you could also do a compression check to see if the valves are adj. properly before spending a bunch of time doin other stuff or adj. the valves if they dont need to be. did you soak the lifters in oil before installing them?

i dont think that your car will run at all if you have the opti misaligned, but im not 100% sure about that.

WOW i wish i would of thought abou tthe rockers. i soaked the lifters, but i bet once they filled with oil, they are too tight. Well, i can run for a few min without the WP, so ill leave all that off and mess with the rockers and see what that does....
