*Headers help*
*Headers help*
I have a 94' Z28. I have a Moroso CAI, a SLP Loudmouth and IM thinking of getting some Elderbrock Ti-Tech Headers from Summit. Yall think these headers will do alot for me? There shorites. I live in Tx, so we have emissions. How much HP would I be getting from all this?

Re: *Headers help*
I guess just about anything will improve upon the stock manifolds, but you need to determine just what kind of emissions stds you are facing with regard to headers. E.g., if you can't move the CAT from its present location, then you may not be able to go with LTs. Also, are you certain that the headers you are looking at would be legal?
Even with some decent mods, like cam, heads, etc., shortie headers probably wouldn't give you more than 15 hp, Lts maybe 25 or so.
So I wouldn't just order some headers until I could answer these questions, including "will I need to get a Y pipe too"?
It is true that performance increases come from better intake, better flow through the heads and better exhaust systems. Optlmimum performance comes when you attend to all three with a well-balanced system and good tuning. Just doing part of the system will give you some improvements, but don't just throw something on for the hell of it. JMHO

Re: *Headers help*
Which specific Edelbrock headers are you looking at.... they have the TES (tubular exhaust system), Victor racing long tubes, and shorties. I thought the shorties were their truck headers. What is the part # at Summit?
