**Idle problem, please help**

Recently over easter break i changed cam/intake and throttle body and everything went together smooth but now when i start my car it wont idle and the throttle response seems a little weird. I went with a GM LT1 ported intake and a cc-502 cam. I also have 1.6 rockers on so the cam is actually a .528int and .536 exh. I am also on a stock computer tune but i didnt know if would have to get a retune, i will but i didnt think it was necessary. I also put in a new throttle position sensor and im wondering if that isnt the problem. i didnt think there was a special way those went in or not. The car backs down after initial start up like its going to idle then stumbles and dies. any help would be great, thanks

A tune is the first thing you need. The computer when the battery is disconnected needs to adjust itself so it might take a little driving to improve. The car will idle differently than a stock one so don't worry if it seems different unless it runs like crap. Checking your plugs and vacuum hoses to be sure everthing got back on correctly is a good idea.

**UPDATE** the car will idle for around 5 to 10 second at 500rpm's just barely enough to stay running then dies.

like said, plugs and vaccum lines first. how about the intake elbow? is it ripped or torn where it goes to the throttle body? check engine light? im having the same problems (with hotcam) and i have narrowed it down, just have to get around to putting new elbow and o2 sensors in.

the intake elbow is fine and the plugs and vacuum lines are tight. sometimes when I rev the car up it will backfire then i get a check engine light and the fans will turn on. When this happens the car is not hot at all. usually at first start up. I think it may have somthing to do with my hypertech programer. Im uninstalling it and ordering a new pcm tomorrow and i'll give that a try. One thing i never though of before though was i may have got the IAC sensor wet with carb and choak cleaner as i throughly cleaned the TB before install. Im going to try a new one of them as well.

What code is it throwing? This should be a big help in your diagnostics.
