**HELP-need to remove brake bracket**
**HELP-need to remove brake bracket**
I'm in the middle of swapping out my brakes for LS1 rotors, clipers, spindles. But How the hell do I get the stock bracket off? Do I need any special tools?
The directions I have are for rotor swap, not everything I'm doing.
thanks.

What bracket? Maybe the 93 is different than the 94 brakes? On my 94 when I did this swap the caliper just bolts to the spindle with no bracket.Using 2 allen head bolts that are recessed/hidden in bothends of caliper.Spin them out and it falls right off.
Off topic And a ball joint puller is needed for the tie rod ends and upper and lower Ball joints. Well at least the tie rods and lower ball joints. The upper all you need to do is loosen the nut a 1/4" and whack the spindle next to it with hammer and the spinlde will fall off/down.
If you are trying to get the bracket off the LS1 calipers.Which they do have brackets. They should slide right off the pins with equal force on each end. If not they are seized and in need of replacement. But in some cases if you can get them apart after almost seized.A good cleaning of pins and inside of caliper holes that recieve them and fresh grease will fix.
Off topic hope when you do get done you dont find you have spread LS1 calipers as I did.And the one I got had only 11K on them.I think it was done when whoever smooshed the piston back in when removing used to much force between the pistons and outside of caliper
I have also heard of people getting bent spindles too...not my case but it could happen from getting parts from wrecked/salvaged cars!

The knuckle won't come off. I got the 3 castle nuts off. The tie rod is loose and the upper A arm is disconnected. I cannot get the ball joint to seperate free. I think its bent
See the flat places on the side of the knuckle where the ball joint studs go through? Back up one side with a big hammer and strike the other side with another hammer. Give it some good, solid whacks. That should make the tapered stud pop loose. I would also recommend you thread the castle nut on just a bit, so it does not pop violently loose. That method has always worked for me.
