Yes, they are a pita. Now is the time to learn how to do it yourself as you can save yourself a ton of $$$. I paid the first time and became a quick study.

I know that price seems very high, but it about right. If you do it yourself, you change a few from the bottom of the car and a few from the top. No special tools are required but a few bottles of beer helps.

Thats actually not a bad deal. I would still do it myself. It took me forever to do the pass side and only like a 1/2 hour to do the drivers side. I saw a receipt from some guy who got charged 700 for all this.

I would have the Chev garage do it if you don't do it yourself. Sounds too reasonable for someone who actually knows what's involved.
At least the garage should guarantee their work, whereas others may tell you to suck a lemon if they happen to screw things up.
You might even be lucky to have a Chev garage do it since you are supplying the parts that they want to sell you. JMHO
BTW: If you do it yourself, consider spending $100.00 for some good plugs and wires and return the OEMS.

I like to stick to OEM parts. The AC DELCO and GM wires are very nice if not the best. Mine have lasted 136k miles. Lets see some NGKs do that or some Taylor/MSD wires.

I would have paid that after doing my stock plugs/wires myself! It took me and a buddy about 6 hours and lots of cussing and blood.
Now with my longtubes I can do a plug change in under an hour!

If you do it yourself you would be better served in removing at least the alternator and the starter. Makes it a bit easier to get to some of the plugs and wires.

hey i did mine myself on my 4th gen LT-1... and it only took me 1 and a half hours!... definatly do it yourself... i would never trust anyone else to touch my car, and if you do it yourself your saving time and money, time you wont have to spend waiting at some crappy garage or dealership and money you can spend on otherthings for your car!

$150 is actually cheap - assuming they truly change them all. IT's a bitch of a job, mechanis who aren't used to working on these cars may leave the number 2 and 8 plugs untouched - they can be a real pain so it's kinda risky. I'd do it myself - if you have to change half one day then half the next even. My friend paid the dealer something like $600 for plugs+wires and labor sucker....
