Can you post the link to the thread where he said it would cost $15G to go that fast? Cuz I can't find it.

A little clarification: I didn't realize he meant canadian dollars, sorry.

Nick has excellent prices on his stuff.

Say $2500 (AMERICAN) will cover the purchase of the rotating assembly and caps, a local builder here charges about $1K for machine work, assembly, and other little parts/pieces/things (has already done one engine for my brother). Plus there was enough overestimation in my "budget" to make up for some little things that were unaccounted for. Not trying to be perfect with the numbers, but it depends on who's buying.

For a $10,000.00 you can get a decent used race car and pop wheelies.

Nope it came fully assembled STREET&STRIP machine shop in south florida. Lets just say i hit it off well with the owner Al from start he is a nice guy. He gave me cost on all parts(it has retail prices on invoice). They dont charg high prices anyway, he builds more big blocks and early v-8s60s70s than lt1s but i must say he did a damn good job as far as i can tell. S&R also built my brothers motor np there either, and his was way cheaper(88lx). They also let me come by every day or so to take a look at progress. Anyway i will go to him again.

It really depends on how you spend the money, if you drop 4 grand on a stereo and dont keep track of how you are spending your money (put your dreams on paper), then it will all be gone and you'll be in the 12s with 2000w of power.

FWIW, I made 411/385RW with less than 3 grand, on every engine mod/addon I had, headers included. As for suspension, I have Koni DA and stiff springs, so not exactly a drag setup. Grab a set of $50-$100 salad shooters and throw some slicks on there along with your 12 bolt, or do a budget stroker and maybe throw some nitrous on top of that. You could also consider a solid roller.

1000 different ways to skin a cat right.

Tunercat $89
Cable $65
1 hour dyno $100
