Z06 clutch

Dont hold me to this but I rember seeing a post where a guy said he got 3 passes on the track with 150 shot and heads / cam work. The impression ive got is its good replacement for the stock clutch if you only have a few bolt ons and no dr's.

I just toasted the clutch in my 01 which I read somewhere was the Z06 clutch (correct me if I'm wrong it was internet information) Makes sense though GM isn't into making multiple things hense the LS6 intake on 01 and 02 cars. Its a great deal for a daily driver that never races but I wouldn't trust it to anything more....although I do know a guy with a 400rwhp car that has it and holds fine.... I'm never that lucky

I smoked mine with a stock car and a 100 dry shot. I never launched with slicks or on the juice either. My advice is the money. Better to do it once, then half a dozen times. McLeod single or Cartek would be my recommendation for your mod level. I know they're expensive, but what ya gonna do?
BTW, the ZO6 clutch was the 2nd clutch I put in my 99 TA. The third was a McLeod single disk. I wish I had gone that route the first time. Good luck!

maybe it was me?...I made three passes with my z06 clutch before it let go with a bang....I was spraying a 100 shot along with the mods in the sig..
I would not run that clutch again.....however..it was the best clutch GM made for the Ls1
I run a stage three spec now...its good for 600rwhp

Don't count on the Z06 clutch togive you anything special. If you want to add N20, I suggest atleast a spec stage 2 clutch. I've got a z06 clutch for now until I can mod other things. Once I'm done I'll be updating a few things (especially clutch for the nitrous) for the extra power I'm adding.

if your not spraying off the launch or when changing gears, would the clutch really matter? isn't it disengaged? i never woulda thought it mattered unless it was being pushed in or whatever.
i can see if you had h/c and other bolt-ons cause the power is always there then working the clutch.
