You can put the Z06 cam in ANY LS1. It will be a nice improvement over stock, however, you will need to replace the valvesprings, and the pushrods as the Z06 cam has a smaller base circle.

The specs of the 02-03 LS6 cam are:

LS6: 204/218 @ 50 .551" / .547" 117.5 LSA

204 degree intake duration at .050
117.5 degree lobe centers.

It'll go right in quite easily. You only need the cam and ls6 (or some other stronger) springs. Pushrods, eh, you don't need em, but it won't hurt anything.

On a car with headers and an ls6 intake, there have been quite a few reports of 30 rwhp. That's not bad for the price I think.

its an ok cam for what it costs.i bought it for driveability and so my dealer cant detect it.i can notice a slightly different idle and louder exh. but it isnt much different.

if youre looking for a ton of power this isnt the cam to go with due to it offers you little to no low end improvement.

Like said, don't feel special. You can get an '02 (the 405hp version) z06 cam for $185 like said. Don't waste your time on the 01.

I think it's an excellent cam for the cost. You're not going to blow any doors off with it, but you'll be sneaky quick. It's a nice sleeper cam. Very drivable, and pretty much the only one who will know it's in there is you, unless you tell people.

I really want a 02-03 Z06 cam, MAC headers & the cheapest heads I can find. (port and pollished) I figure for around $2000 turning wrenchs the old '99Z will be clearing 350 to 380 hp and sound close to stock if not carried away with loud mufflers. What a daily driver set up, plus no $500 tune. You can go through $1000 quick on bolt-on's or the cheap sleeper cam/head comb. ???????

P.S. Besides the MAC headers don't tell a soul, just healthy from the factory

Okay if you do heads AND cam and headers n **** and you ONLY pull 380 RW out of a LS1... then you got some damn problems... I dynoed 356rwhp with JUST SLP long tubes and flowmaster cat back dude... heads+cam on my car will be well over the 400 mark... the Z06 cam, guys, is 221$ thru here, however is 184 thru gmpartsdirect.com... tack on the tax and shipping and its the same price as the cam thru my dealership... so there is no plus side to ordering it from the net other than itd be coming to my house instead of my dealership

Make sure you get the 02 cam. It usually costs a little more than the 01.
