Where did you install your catch can?

I just got done installing a greddy catch can in my 01 z28. I put it right by the pass side head light. I did a quick search and seen that some people put it where their ac compressor used to be or where their cruise control goes. Where did you guys put yours? I'm looking mainly for people whose still got all the factory options under their hoods, real dd's.

How come these show up as links and not pictures? I'm hosting them myself.

Just a suggestion but if you can return the Greddy catch can I would, get yourself a AMW catch can. These things make anyone elses look like crap, here's one using my polished bracket mounted to the head.

The one I have pictured does not have the hoses hooked to the PCV system yet, a simple answer to your question, the catch can traps oil vapors from geting into your intake.

Oh? Gotcha! Instead of that line off the valve cover that goes through a PCV then into the intake or wherever it goes? I guess that's so you get only AIR or GASOLINE burning in the cylinders, not crappy oil vapours? Makes sense.

The Accurate catch can comes with all the mounting hardware, you can mount it on the rad support or almost anywhere else you like. I make the polished bracket that mounts to the head, I like the idea and the looks of it mounted to the head ( if you have the EGR mounted to the head my bracket wouldn't work there ). Anyways if your interested in one of the Accurate catch cans here's a link http://www.accmachtech.com/pcvcatchcans.htm . I don't mean to get this thread off topic but this is a great catch can, to keep this thread on topic I won't reply anymore. Sorry I got your thread off topic jm8881.

Post all you want Dark Age 53. That is what a message board is all about. Someone posts, people talk, ideas and info get exchanged, and someone gets informed. Who cares if the tread gets a little off topic? Not me.

About returning it, I didn't pay full price, got a great deal from someone on a different board for it brand new. Also, I like the look of the greddy can over the one you pictured and the abbility to see how full it is with just a glance. I just like how yours is mounted. I might try to copy that with the greddy, my mount might not look as pretty, but putting it there just seems more conveinient.

Thanks jm8881. Give me some measurements of your Greddy catch can and I'll see if a bracket like mine would work?

Well dark age 53, you talked me into it. I sold my Greddy catch can and bought an AMW. Although the greddy looked good and worked well, I was looking on the amw website that you posted and I decided to buy one. It just has more features that make sense. I've noticed that you posted about this thing before and a couple others said they would buy one, do you get paid for selling so many for amw ? Anyways, just thought I'd let you know that.

Beleive me they don't need me to sell there catch can, once a person gets there AMW catch can they'll understand why it's the best catch can on the market. BTW, I hate that word catch can for the AMW catch can, it's more of a piece of art then a catch can.

Here's a few pics, the first pics shows a angle cut of 35 degrees at the top. Second picture is of the top support and the last is what the bracket it looks like after I drill the mounting holes and what I call apperance holes...also polish it. I used a yard stick as my temp-plate, if you want to make your own PM or e-mail me your address and I'll make a cardboard temp-plate for you and mail it out.

BTW, The bracket is made out of 6061 aluminum and is 1 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick.
