whats in the LS1 police camaro package???

I have the chance to buy a 99' unmarked white camaro highway parol car for 10,000. It has an automatic trans, power doorlocks and windows, and it has 63,000 miles. Went for a ride with the friend of mine whose selling it and from a standstill, this car would BLOW the back tires off and would get sideways into second gear. Definelty pulled stronger than most LS1 manual cars that Ive rode in, stock. So does anyone know what the police package consist of??? Is the motor a stock LS1 or modded up from the factory??? My friend thats selling the car has an 03' LS1 A4 vette, and swears that the camaro will outrun it...I dunno....maybe just trying to get me to buy it. I know this car is VERY fast, but is 10,000$$ too much. I know that it was maintained well coming from the highway patrol. Car is very clean and tight, too. Maybe time to move up to a LS1!!!!!

The B4C is basically a unmarked Z28. Like 99% of other pursuit packages the engine ratings are the same.

The older B4C used some 1LE parts but newer models are based mostly on the Z28. Some say the alternator is a little bigger but I am not sure of that.

The state troopers where I live modify the cars to go faster (we have street racers and rich people both with VERY fast cars). The cars have had everything from superchargers to nitrous adder to them, most have no cats and headers at least. The cars with power adders have rollcages. I spoke to a trooper here who allowed my buddy even to come down and check em out and take pics, which I'll try and nab. Either way it POSSIBLY could be modded, he told us that they modded em before they even went into service but usually removed everything and put back most of the factory parts before re-selling them.

A friend bought an ex NY State Trooper 94 Z28 that was SCARY fast compared to a stocker, he ha no clue what they did but it was definitely faster.

That said, the car practically fell apart, even though they maintain em well, theres a reason they get taken out of service, the Trooper even told me they beat the ***** off the car and when its not getting abused it sits idling for hours on end...

the only upgrades to the B4Cs are done to the charging system and to the suspension, power ouput stays the same. the cars are never moded by police departments, modifications are strictly up to the officer driving it.

and in a straight line race, a Z28 (yes even the B4C) should take a vette. I have yet to have a stock vette beat my bone stock car.

Depends on the department... NY State pays to modify em here... many other states to, or tey even use siezed vehicles. some states even allow cops to use their personal cars (I wouldnt but...).

Check out e-bay #2450308264.
Colo. Has a 2000 w/94k miles on it. Goes off tomorrow at 7:40 AM pst. They are usually decent cars (at least all I have bought from Colo. are)
I think bid is $8200 now and probably go to $8600-9000
I used to worry about miles, but these highway patrol cars seem to keep a licking and keep on ticking. Most states are running the Camaro's longer due to fact there are no more and MOST!! troopers love them.
They trooper who had mine said he would of done anything to keep it but they forced him to turn it in W/101K miles.
The B4C'S will be doing nothing but getting more valuable due to GM stopping production of the Maro, and each year there was only limited production of B4C'S.
Here is the color # produced in 2000
39 white
70 silver
6 Maroon
4 red
42 pewter
18 navy
42 Black
24 off color Total of 245
Happy hunting!!!!
Should be another one up in next week or so!
They do run great and I have known some that have performance chips.

Not true ....Vettes run a 12.9-13.2 right outa the box , they got more power and weigh less . But some of the police cars come geared . ......323's

Actually, I have never seen a bone stock vette run 12.9 at the track. And they do not have more power and even with their lighter weight, they are not as efficient at the track..

Vette weighs about 3200 and some change.. My Z28 weighs with a full tank, 3470..
Average vette will put down low 300's on the dyno.. i put down 3teens on the dyno.. at the track and on the street, I have yet to find a stock vette that my stock Z cant walk.. I am by no means killing them, but I am ahead the whole way..

Now back to this post.. The Z28 in question should be able to beat the Vette in question all things being equal..

Im not saying they dont exist , you may have one of those damn good running LS1's . I have also seen LS1 camaros that could not break a 14.2 , but i GOT A FRIEND WITH A 2001 formula that runs a 12.7 with a wisper lid and free air mod , w/auto . ran a 13.2 bone stock . It depends on the car in some cases . Most corvettes will beat Z28's . You just have a damn good running Z , they dont all run or dyno like yours .
