I thought about posting this over lunch today. What is the lowest a STOCK LS1 has dynoed? LOW DYNO POSTS ONLY!!!!

My friends Bone Stock 85,000 mile 99 Z28 M6 put down 303 HP 308 TQ.

My 123,000 mile 99 TA A4 W/LT's Lid,Frost Mail Order Tune and Free Mods 312HP 325TQ

 

The Mustang dyno I use shows a healthy LS1 auto in the mid 260s. Unusually strong M6 cars are high 280s.

 

Someone has to be able to post an actual low stock dyno number.....

 

To what purpose. Given the good tolerances of modern manufacturing, the vast majority should fall fairly closely.

 

On what kind of Dyno?

 

Thought it was pretty self explanatory: to see who has the lowest dyno.

 

Ive seen one fall just under 280 on a mustang dyno, Auto 2.73, 97 or 98 C5. lowest f-bod M6 Ive seen on the same type of dyno was high 280's. 287 maybe? it was a low mileage car (like under 3000).

really, it doesn't matter much. give the differences in weather, dyno types, car tolerances (miles, year, etc), operator + setup, heat soak, there can be a fair range of dyno numbers.

thats why when people ask what ls1's dyno I usually say they can be from low 280's for a weak 98 auto 2.73, to as much as 315-320 ish for a really good 01 or 02 m6.

the only way to compare numbers is to use the same dyno (preferrably the same day).

 

I know this is an old post, dyno sheets are put away in a box somewhere but my old 99 LS1 Auto trans am (completely stock) made 269 before the tune on thunder racings dyno in boca raton fl several years back. the air in the nittos was a little low and he said that could affect the hp readings. after a tune only it made 307.

You didn't pick up 40hp from a tune on a stock vehicle. Something else was addressed. Perhaps a contaminated MAF?

 

actually, nothing was stated. That was when they released the diablosport predator and my 99 a4 was one of their cars they were setting up a tune on. I hooked up with them when I was on a local board in Tampa called Badrap. Maybe it just had a crap "tune" from the factory, not trying to make crazy statements, just stating what happened. thanks for the laugh. coincidentally, when I did my plugs about 6 months later the electrodes were pretty far gone......oh, and I'll never do plugs on an ls1 again either.

 

2.73s will increase dyno numbers. a 3.23 auto, probably a 98 would dyno the lowest hp from the factory. more tq. tho

i put down 321 with lid and catback only. i say stock i woulda pt down 305hp

 

My old 1998 Z28 stock Dynoed in the 280s. But it ran 13.0 to 13.20s, so I was fine with it. On nitrous it ran 11.50s to 11.7s with a 150 dry kit. I forget the dyno numbers on nitrous. I was not to upset with dyno numbers after that because it ran like a bat out of h$##.

 

Mine put down about 279, but that was on a mustang dyno, car has a 98 LS1, so, worst year for power. At the time I was running 3.27 gears. Also have long tubes and ls6 intake
