My 99 supersport had the 4 speakers in the back as well the only difference is the door speakers..The firebirds have tweeters on the doors...vs camaro doesn't. First off the speakers in the back of the car are going to produce the best sound..acoustics are great .... So if you were desigining a system wouldn't you put some good sound ranging back there?I know when I got my SS you had different choices on the stereo you wanted...The one I got had them...Unless the other one doesn't...I want to say it had a 200watt Moonson...Who knows..It was to long ago.

According to the info I got (Camaro brochure) the Monsoon is 500 watts. I have heard 200 watts mentioned, too. From what I know about Monsoons, they are designed for the interior of the car they are in. The speakers in the back seat put out only bass. Highs come from the hatch area. They are on the same channel. At least this is how mine is. 6 pr 8??? I don't care. It still sounds good to me. I see no reason for those of you who have 4 in the back to be wrong. I guess there was an option that I did not know about.
