what yr was LS6 intake standard on F's

Was it '00 or '01 that the LS6 intake manifold was standard LS1 eqipment for the F cars?

Is there a noticeable difference between the 98-00 LS1's and the 01-02 LS1's? What are the diff. HP ratings?

Actually that's the SS and WS6 models. Zs and Formys are 305 and 310

the difference in the intake manifold is the 01+ flow better and do not come with provisions for EGR

ive heard 01 02 come with the ls6 intake no egr but have a smaller cam than the ones in the 98-00 not sure though someone will chime in though

The valve lift for the '98 - '00 cam is something like ~.499", vs the '01 - '02 cam is around .478 - .479" lift, but the duration and LSA's are different..........lift isn't the only thing that makes a cam. The '01/'02 LS1 cam is supposed to be the same as the cam used in the 6.0L trucks!

So why the cam change and EGR provision change?

If u take the non factory LS6 intake car and add it yourself, will it make more power than the factory LS6 installed cars with the ones with the bigger cam?

Is it worth the effort to change on the older cars?

The cam change was to do away with the EGR.
And yes it's worth it to change over on an older car. You can get one from SLP with the egr provivions.
