Question What your best guess?

Hey guys i got a 99 z with the mods in my sig. I have noticed starting about a week ago a squeak in the engine. It is on and off on a speed based on rpms. It almost completly goes away with the AC running. I sprayed the belts with a conditionare and it did not stop the noise. Any thoughts? Maybe the tenisioner or a pulley? Im at a loss right now guys so just point me in a direction or give me some more tests to run. Thanks in advance

Re: What your best guess?

mine did the same thing it sounds like. It turned out to be a pulley on the main drive assembly. I would suggest just pull the belt off and spin each one untill one doesnt turn smoothly.

Hope that helps.

Start your car pop the hood and listen to where its coming from. If you have a mechanics stethoscope that would help to so you can isolate which one is bad. Mine was the tensioner pulley but in 99 the idler pulleys go out alot. Check those two first. Both of them are like 20-25 bucks from pepboys and extremely easy to change. Start there.
