What is this ticking/tapping noise?

Engine tapping when cold
I have the same problem with my 02 Z28 so I went to GM and a got a tech bulliten that says the O-ring between the oil pump and the pickup tube cracks thus starving the top end the only thing I can think of is when the engine warms up it swells the O-ring just enough to allow more oil to reach the top end. The bulliten says it is nothing to worry about but to me if the engine is getting starved of any oil its worth worrying about and plus its annoying.

Is there an echo in here? 
If so, took 7 years for the reverberation to come back.......
