what size cam and......

Ok guys I need to know what size cam I should get and how much it will cost to have a speed shop install it for me. I'm looking to get more low end and I've heard that big cams won't help in the low end but more in the top. So any suggestions on size and price? I realize that all speed shops will vary in price for installation but can you give me some rough estimates. Thanks.

Re: what size cam and......

I am currently looking for a cam my self for my 02 Z28. I really want a good street cam since my car is an everyday driver, so I have been thinking about the 04 Z06 Vette cam. Its 218/218 .550/.550 117.5 LSA. I have also been thinking of the Thunder Racing 224/224 .563/.563 114 LSA cam.

As for install cost I could only guess. I would think anywhere from $400 to $600 bucks. Check out www.ls1howto.com Its got some good info for cam swaps.

And also try searching the forum if you haven't yet.

Thanks for the input blackz28camaro. The problem i'm having is i'm not sure what the numbers mean when you say. I know or at least i think i know that they mean lift and duration or duration and lift something of that nature. But I don't know if it's better to have higher numbers or lower numbers. see what I'm sayin. I'm just confused on the numbers. oh well i'm sure i'll figure something out. Thanks a again.

On www.ls1howto.com it tells you all about cams on there. It explains all about cam functions.

I'm not "upto" to #'s ether but that is besides my point. Isn't it alittle funny that every time WE have a specific ?, we revert to THEM. I kindof thought we had our own .com?
