What Should I Expect?

Here is the setup of a car I am looking at:

K&N air filter
Direct-flow air lid
EGR mod
Free ram air mod
Comp Cam--specs (.566/.566/222/222 lsa 114 @0.050
Comp Cam 918 ovate valvesprings
Comp Cam chromoly pushrods
Comp Cam Titanium Retainers
LS1edit
ASP under drive crank pulley
Mac midlength headers
off road y-pipe
SLP dual/dual catback exhaust,
Flowtech exhaust cutout,
Vigilante 2800rpm torque convertor (I know, no hp)

He said it did

Max hp: 294.7 @6000rpm
max tq: 285.6 @4500rpm

on a Mustang dyno, so what should I expect on a regular dyno? Also, not going to drag it, but this setup is okay on the stock 10 bolt isn't it? Thanks.

Those look like stock LS1 RW #'s.

Any combo will live w/a stock rear end if you aren't hammering it. You could be making 450 hp and run street tires and be fine too because all you'll do is spin tires.

Quoting from ad:

they use a mustang dyno. anyway here are my results:

Max hp: 294.7 @6000rpm
max tq: 285.6 @4500rpm

i was stunned and didn't know what to say. i don't have any experience with dyno's but i figured i should have been somewhere in the 350-380rwhp range with the torque being similar he did say he had a 98 T/A dyno 266rwhp with mac's/orp and ATR catback. and he was pleased with my results

You mean a Ford mustang oriented shop right? They probably had a Dynojet dyno though. This guy is talking about a 'Mustang' brand dyno. They do read significantly lower than a dynojet and you cannot compare the numbers between a dynojet and a mustang. Unfortunately there is no accurate conversion factor either.

Stock, with a Flowmaster Muffler, and a SLP air lid with K&N, I did 340tq, and 320hp on the dyno.

I think something is wrong... sure you didnt enter the numbers 100 less than what they really were?

Ok, to clarify..

the two top dogs in the chassis dyno world are Dynojet and Mustang (nothing to do with the car)..

Mustang dynos typically dyno lower numbers which have some people thinking that its a true number.

Dynojets are more common and thus all of our numbers have more consistancy when making comparisions. My main beef with the Mustang dyno with its lower numbers is when you take the power it says you have, factor in the car weight with you in it and the gearing, you will have an 1/4 mile time that is way slower than what you can easily acheive.. My Dynojet readings along with my car weight and all give me a realistic 13.19 sec 1/4 mile time. Thats entirely possible and I have almost pulled it.

Dyno readings are directly transferable to track readings but I like to do both on the same day or within 1 day of eachother just to get a better chance of consistancy.

Here in Houston we have alot (6+) Dynojet equipped facilities.
http://www.dynojet.com/auto.shtml here is a link to info on the two main types of dynojet dynos.. (I had previously looked into a dyno only shop..)
