What Rear

Hey guys i got my first car today...... 2002 Trans Am ws6 Convertible.. Silver with a Black Top. Loaded to the Gils... (i am an only child and spoiled to all hell so plz don't give me **** ) i was wondering what rear came in these cars? 3.23 or 3.42? its one or the other i think. and cheap mods to the motor? i kinda got like no money... (450 bucks a month for 5 years really sucks, oh well 20k to go ) I was thinkin some of the slp cold induction stuff.. like 100 bucks for some of the stuff. pretty easy to afford. But anyway i will have pics up prob around this forum if u all wanna check it out. give me like.. hmm.. 2 days. Ok thanks guys lata

Since it's a 6-speed it has a 3.42 rear gear.

Cool What size reerend?

I've got a six speed, and stock 2.73's. You can tell, my first is good to 50 and secong to 80. and thats when you dont take into account the 6500 redline now. its still faster than fuc* though. spankin those z06's. killed my friends blown 96 shi*stain on motor. im going to 4.10's though...more fun, and i dont drive it much so its cool.

You have 3.42's

and yeah about 50 is where you shift with a 3.42 and a t56

NO 6speed car from 94 up came with anything other than 3.42's

What does being full of have to do with the speed of your car? Nothin... So when how fast your car is becomes a matter of social standing then we can talk, until then do you research, i was not trying to flame you just meerly tell you that you are misinformed. The car came with 3.42s weather or not someone changed them is the question. That or i suppose he could have a shorter then stock tire, but considering that would require a 20" tire diameter, i'm continuing my idea that either his car is modified or you're just simply full of ****.

If you have a 6 speed, T56 transmission, your stock rearend gear is 3.42. Look at your "RPO" sticker on the drivers inside door jamn, you should have the code "GU6" for 3.42. The 2.73 gear ratio's RPO code is "GU2".

Hope this helps you out in some way.
