What the heck is this wire?
What the heck is this wire?
On a 99LS1, What is the wire that bolts on the left (passenger) side of the block, right before the head cover, underneath the EGR pipe coming out of the top of the throttle body.
it's a black wiring that bolts (looks to be grounding) to a bolt on this part of the engine.
When i had my engine rebuilt, the rebuilder forget to ground this back down....what the heck is it?

Ok, I have some pics.
HERE
and HERE (Close Up)
It looks like it connects to some metal bracket which comes off that black, oily tube. No idea what it is for.

I'm not sure, but I swear to God I had a dream about this last night. That wire was disconnected and the car wouldn't shut off. When you turned the key back, he idle would lower and the steering and brakes wouldn't work. Weird huh??!?!
Its not a ground, but that is the pcv valve. That wires is used to heat up tyhe pcv valve believe it or not. disconnect it and nothing will happen. It really only has funtion where its cold...
