Let's tell all the people who clogged up the freeways just because there is an accident on the other side of the road, "don't look". Tell the christians and everyone who protest/ed Howard Stern, yet by listening gave him the #1 rated show, "don't listen". For all those who complain that Video Games are way to violent yet the most successful titles continue to be the ones with "M" ratings...."don't buy". etc...etc.
If the solution was as easy as you wrote: "don't read it" and others practiced this simple method not just in this forum but in everyday life.....this forum, this country and world would be alot better off. So make sure you and Mr. "thumb in the butt" who posted above...practice what you preach and don't be a hypocrite, cuz it'll come back to you....always does
There....my rant is over...a truce...for now

Re: what is the diff between an LS1 and LT1
If you go LT1 vs. LS1 it is not fair, the LS1 is a much nicer engine all around, I say this and I don't even own an LS1 but I have worked on many LS1s, the LS1 engine is what the LT1 owner always wanted but now it comes along and you dare to compare.
I have to say that both engines are awesome, the LT1 can probably make more power vs. the LS1 now days because you can do crazy things like 15* heads or some SB2.2 heads, or maybe the Dominion 32 valve heads, stuff that is not yet avaliable for the LS1, but I know with time these things will come to the LS1 world and then watch out, I love the whole alluminum look, nice cast oil pan, easy cam swaps, timing cover comming out without needing to take the pan out, swapping oil pumps, cam swaps with the intake still on, the coils are now avaliable for LT1s so they don't count
, and I also love the LS1 PCM features, may I should not have recently bought a 99 Sunfire GT as my every day driver, should have bought an LS1 engine
I also love how a big cam in the LS1 acts much more tame then in the LT1, prolly cuz of the longer intake plenums preventing reversion.
As for the whole 2 bolt vs. 6 bolt mains, I've seen something like a 9's at 132 mph with stock block for the LS1.
And doesn't the LQ9 (Iron LS1) have 6 bolt mains
how strong is that.

LS-1 has a completely different ignition setup - coil per cylinder. The LT1 has a horrible ignition setup using what is called the optispark - it's a distribibutor basically that is mounted ont he front of the engine and driven off the camshaft.
The engines have radically differently head designs...
The engines have radically different intakes. The LS1 has the plastic intake where as the LS1 has a cast iron intake.
Those are the big differences.

Re: what is the diff between an LS1 and LT1
mod for mod an ls1 will make more power, saying LT1s will do such is simply not correct. A cammed LT-1 makes on average as much power at a light bolt-on LS1, and it just gets worse from there.

Off topic - Birchman, click.
I remember an argument w/u that the SS package was listed solely as an "appearance" package. Read my build sheet. Call it what you want, but you were wrong.
