Re: What Cam to use????
Get your headers first.
Wow, a "fully built" trans. Sure beats a half or 3/4 built trans. lol
If you plan on spraying, you may want to look at some of the N20 grinds for optimum effect. You still need to know what you want out of your cam. More than just "computer friendly"
What exactly do you mean by computer friendly anyway? If you can't afford a tune, you can't afford a cam.
This is the advise I give to everyone who asks this question.
STUDY! RESEARCH! Learn about cams then MAKE YOUR OWN DESCISION!
LS1tech has a great cam thread that is stickied plus a wealth of other thread chock full of useful info. Car Craft just did an issue about cams. There are books about modding LS1's that go into cams. There are threads on here where it is all discussed. SEARCH is your friend. The pinkish-gray squishy thing between your ears...use it.
If you don't understand something or need it put in simple terms, thats cool. But there are so many grinds and so many different concepts to make more power with a cam that your question can't be answered at this juncture.
Or I could just give you the generic 224 grind answer.

Re: What Cam to use????
in order to pick a cam you need to tell us what kind of power level you are looking for.
01 auto with all the bolt ons should be running on average of 325hp to the wheels...use that as a starrting point.
if you want 350rwhp....LS6 cam will do fine and you could probbaly run on stock tune
365rwhp...TR224 should do the trick and a mail order tune would probably suffice
385rwhp....FM13, mti X1 or TSP Torquer, and a good dyno tune to stay street freindly is highly advisable
400rwhp....FM14
now realize these numbers are just approximations, the auto and higher stall will show lower rear wheel hp numbers than a comparable M6. and there is always someone floating around who has dynoed 400rwhp with the TR224 cam...but that's not the norm.

Re: What Cam to use????
Oh, I'm hurt. Someone needs to get a better sense of humor instead getting their panties in a knot and trying to make this ribbing personal by being immature and resorting to name calling. If you have never noticed, noobs get teased. Go to a garage or a new job and see what happens. Ever hear of a left handed monkey wrench, blinker fluid, or muffler bearings? You'll get over it, and if not then its your prob. I didn't see where anyone "judged" you for your lack of knowlege. Ya, we may have poked fun a bit, but I'm sure you've done the same before. Am I right?
Did I not mention LS1tech, magazines, and books? Sorry, but asking someone "Which cam is best for me" is like asking someone to tell you "which woman is best for you."
You're much better off using the resources I mentioned to educate yourself and making your own mind up instead of getting a bunch of opinions. Sorry if the truth offends, but use your head and the search feature instead of being LAZY!!!
Again, what do you mean by computer friendly? As in "I want to leave power on the table and live with a poor idle but I still want a big cam." or "I want to leave power on the table and don't care if it has much lope, but I still won't tune it." or "I don't know enough to know that I can get my ECU tuned for a cam." Which is it????
Come back with a more educated idea of what you are wanting so you can clarify your statements and be more specific and I'm sure you'll find us much more helpful. HELP US HELP YOU!
I'll help a little now. Saying a "fully built intimidator 3 trans" makes you seem like a noob because its obviously modified with a name like that. Also, just because you know nothing about LS1s means little about having cam knowlege or not. Other engines use cams too.
Here are some better ways to ask this question (brought to you by the little SEARCH feature found in the header of this page). Notice the helpful responses when you are more specific. Read and learn.

Re: What Cam to use????
yeah, I dont think his smart *** response or my laughing at it makes me or him a *****. ask a vague(sp?) question, and you'll get a vague answer. sorry. you need to be LOT more specific.
whats your main goal? HP? stealth? A4 or M6? stock or other boltons? gears? are you goin to get it tuned or do you want a cam that doesnt require tuning? if you dont have alot of cash for custom tuning, you should go for a mail order tune. I suggest MADZ28. he did my mail order tune and its gotta be really close cause my car drives flawlessly and I think made some good pass's for the mods I have considering all the things my car is lacking still.
anyways, consider your first responsibility now is to give us your info so we can hone in on what would/couldbe the right cam for you.

Re: What Cam to use????
Bonestock,
I, too, agree you over reacted at nothing. Just because you didn't get "hand outs" from us does not mean we aren't helpful. Keeping you ignorant and saying to run cam X should aggrivate you. You shouldn't get turned off by saying go do your homework.
Formulating an effective combination isn't easy, it will take work. If this isn't something you're willing to do, I suggest you walk away from it or pay a shop to do all of your design work and installation.
There are no clearcut answers in this field.
