sometimes i wish i had gone with the FMS cam instead of the TSP Torquer that i have. i was really hoping for 400rwhp with my setup. although i think i'm in the 390s now...i think with more tuning it would break my goal.

although i have been warned that the FMS cams are so aggressive that they wear out springs quick
Actually, they aren't EXTREMELY aggressive. I think the the duration between .006" and .050" is about 51* and is an XE lobe design, not an XE-R design.

The cam is listed as the RJ cam on the website (Ron Jeremy.. .a big stick..... ROFL!) It's 236/239 .600/.611

Re: what cam do you guys recommend

I was getting my LS1 Edit the otherday, I asked for a cam recomend.

I think he said something along the lines of a 232/236 .580 for mine. No LSA specs tho. (NOT EXACT) I cant remember. He said I'd be at about 400 to the wheels for a car w/ minor mods and full headers back.

Would that work in our/his cituation? The guy's pretty good....

It's all relative. It gets 26-27 mpg on the interstate @ 70 mph with a 4.10 gear, so.......

It's probably a 112 +4 cam.

I'd still go with Futral over anyone else in the business. You should look at their F-13 or F-14 cam. I haven't seen anyone dyno under 400 rwhp with their cams (with all bolt-ons)

How about a custom grind Comp cam and AFR Mongoose heads for the LS1?

I've been meaning to ask, but I'm sure this has been asked a million times.
In an ls1, if you did, headers, electric cutout, rods/springs/lifters/rockers, lid, tune, with a moderate-to-aggresive cam, would you get around 460 rwhp? Or maybe with an intake 480hp?

No... you'd be quite a LONG way off from those kinds of power levels. If that were the case then every LS1 car would make 450 RWHP while in actuality only a few percent make over 400.

Re: what cam do you guys recommend

full boltons, big cam, tuning and well ported heads you could probably come close to 450hp at the wheels.

but it wouldn't be very streetable
