Weird LS1 brake question

I bought a set of LS1 brakes to put on my LT1 Trans Am and the guy told me it had power slot rotors that are slotted and brake pads called green something, anyway i went ahead and bought new pads.

Some Reybestos PGD749QS and went to put them on and i can not get the caliper back on, it feels like the rotor will not slide inbetween the pads. '

Also i have never put pads on before, doesn't seem that difficult but....

The pads will not sit still, they seem to move a lot which make fitting them hard. But what size are the LS1 rotors. I think the rotor said 7mm and a bunch of numbers with letter, code or something.

Any suggetion.

Lightbulb I did not see any rotor specs, but ...

Auto Zone or your local parts store should be able to answer that question for you.

As far as the rotor not going in - did you depress the caliper pistons ?

See :

Install Documents - then go to Brakes.

Good Luck !

The pads that it came with were probably "Green Stuff" pads - those pads are supposed to be awesome. My brother put them on his TransAm after putting on cross-drilled rotos and they grabbed a lot better and got better stopping distance. They're like $100 for just the fronts. I'd put them back on.
