Uh oh... another "Noise"...
Uh oh... another "Noise"...
Okay guys... Heres one for ya. I put 2 weeks ago, Castrol Syntec 10w30 Synthetic oil in my car... previousley I have used either Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30 or 10w30 with no trouble...
HERE's the problem... teh vehicle makes a rattling noise now... I was hoping its not the bottom half, and its not im pretty sure.. It sounds like its coming from teh exhasut... and since i have those halfassed Random Technologies cats on the car and the 1 already melted and blew all the element out into the muffler, Im thinking if its possible this is happening to the second one... the car runs ok until it warms up a little bit then it feels like its got frickin 'turbo-lag' altho i have no turbo....
Any input?

Well first off the oil should have nothing to with it,and unless you can find someone small enough & stupid enough to hang onto the bottom of your car while it's in motion to pinpoint the noise it's a real guessing game because of the way sound travels through the metal componants of the chasis, but I would be willing to bet on the cats cause the same thing happened to my '84 and the noise was the cats coming apart from the inside.I was lucky in that the guts didn't turn or shift and cause an exhaust blockage which may explain the "turbo- lag" feel in performance.hope this helps.
