tsp lid or package deal

I was thinking about getting the ftra kit for my 99 formula. I also need a lid and air filter. I want to get the tsp carbon lid because several posters here told me it was the best.

Texas speed sells the lid but not ftra. FTRA sells thier product in a nice package deal with the ls1 motorsports hi-flo lid. Is there a big enough difference between the ls1 motorsports lid and the tsp lid to justify the extra money and shipping fees? If it is then I have no problem spending the extra cash and using two different companies for my upgrades but if I will only gain 1 or 2 hp then it may not be worth it.

Anyones input is highly appreciated.

1-2 rwhp for $10-30 is a good deal if you consider that after you've done all the free (cutout, egr, etc) and cheap mods (pulley, etc), the next decent mod will cost you upwards of $1000 for ie. longtubes (parts/labor) for 20rwhp.

only problem with TSP is that it takes forever to get these 85mm lids. been waiting for a month now.

Personally, I think you should avoid the FTRA. The SuperSucker is better for a couple reasons. It's made out of strong plastic, not metal...so it won't absorb a lot of heat. It's a two piece assembly, so you can run it like the FTRA on the street....then when you go to the track, you can hook up the bottom end and get a ram air effect. So, if you're gonna mod the intake, I say SSRA, TSP lid and filter (Holley or K&N).

I was looking at the SSRA but I was afraid of constantly hitting it on curbs and speed bumps. I read the price was dropped to $199 but when I do a search I only find one place selling it (LM Performance and they want $219).

Can you link me a place I might find it for the $199? Thanks

I think the price drop starts next month, he pulled it out of production for a month or so to change vendors I believe. I have yet to srape it on anyting. It hangs 2-3 inches below the nose, so just don't pull over very high stuff. A parking curb will clear. BTW my car is not lowered. TSP lid is awesome.
