Question Trouble w/o2 simms and hooker LT's!

OK.Here's the deal.My friend just had hooker LT's installed. He got rid of the cats.Has the hooker y-pipe.The check engine light now comes on.The shop that did the install put an o2 simm in the y-pipe.The light still comes on.My question did the shop do right by putting only one o2 simm on the car?I always the simms sold in pairs.Should two simms be put in?Like at the end of each header?99Z28 is the car.Thanks.Jeff

he should have 2 o2 simms and they should be connected in the furthest slots in the back. do not put them in the front slots, they will for sure cause an ses light.

Two slots(holes)?I just looked at the car on the lift and I could only see one slot to put the o2 simm.He has the hooker y-pipe.

Yeah, the old cats had them at the end nearest the rear of the car. The old connectors should be just above where the old cats ended. You need one sim for both sides. I've heard the SES light will still come on due to the change in back pressure or something.

Question

I'm still not understanding this.On the y-pipe I could only see one o2 senors. There is a o2 simm right there.Right where the y-pipe y's into one pipe.Where does the second simm go?

Are there any O2 sensor physically going into the collectors or y-pipe? Those would be the front O2 sensors and he needs those.

The O2 sims are just small box with a connector on them. The don't secure to anything but the connector.

Yes,he has two o2 senors right on each end of the the headers. And then he's got an o2 simm(1)where the y-pipe y's into to one pipe.
Can someone just say if he needs one or two o2 simms! How many do you guys have on your setups(hookers lt's w/the hooker y-pipe)?

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

First ... it's an LS1 ... it has 2, that's TWO as in duece, twice as many as one, O2 sensors ... it does not matter how many holes there are in the AM y-pipe. Your stock Y-pipe had fittings for two senors.

But in your case the y-pipe is totally irrevelant ... you're putting in O2 simulaters ... they do not, repeat do not, plug into the y-pipe ... they plug into the connecter that the rear O2 sensors were plugged into. And there are two connectors.
