I seem to have this problem every now and then when riding around. When I am going usually about 25 mph in my a4 with 3.23's the transmissions feels like its just surging then after like 5 or 6 seconds it will stop. I have heard people with torque converters doing this but I am stock pretty much with no torque converter.

 

How many miles do you have on your car, maybe you stock converter's time is up. Could also be the clutch drums in your transmission starting to slip.

 

My car has 35000 miles on it. If its something you think would require the transmission to be fixed or looked at like symptoms listed above my problems is it happens just time to time and couldnt ever really show anyone the problem unless they lucked up on the time it did it.

 

Well at 35,000 miles i would hope that the trans is still in good shape. If its only from time to time, i would let it sit in the back of your mind, unless it gets worse. If you really cant show someone, the trans shop would have to rip the trans apart just to find the problem and then it might as well be rebuilt. Sometimes if the shop cuts corners you end up worse off. I would let it go for now.

 

If it were mine I'd change out the fluid and filter. Then wait and see if it happened again.

 

What would be a good recommendation for some tranny fluid and filter?
