I was wondering about installing the transgo shift kit to improve my transmission. Has anyone done this install and if so how did they like it? I know it sells for about $100 and was just wondering if it was worth the money.

I dont think its worth the extra beating your transmission will take. These trannys get hurt enough on their own over time.

 

The Trans-Go Performance Shift will work fine if you do a couple of changes to it. I would also get a 9.5" torque converter (Vigilante, A.C.T., etc.) to go along with the modified Shift kit. You can have smooth 1-2 part throttle shifts, with the shifts getting progressively firmer with more throttle. 1-2 bang, harsh, violent shifts can easily be avoided, and are not necessary in fact can/will shorten transmission life. Yeah that stall would be a good idea, but it adds some serious dollars to the origional 100 bucks he thought it would cost.

 

I would much rather improve my tranny through computer programming so you can make any changes on the fly without getting your hands dirty....maybe a HPP3, Predator or LS1 edit
