It is possible but you will have to get the Pedals out of the newer pedals because the Fourth Generation F-Bodys have a Hydraulic Clutch. Then you will have to move your Tranny mount for the newer Trans.. Cut a hole in your floor for the Shifter because it is farther back.. Plus which Gear Ratio does your Camaro currently have ?? For some added information, a 6 speed (T56) has 2 Overdrives, 5th gear is .76 and 6th is .50.. For example if you have a 3.08 Gear Ratio, 25 inch tall Rear Tires, at 75 MPH in 5th gear your RPMS will be 2360 and in 6th gear your RPMS will be 1550. This is not a problem with Electronic Fuel Injection, but with a carb, it would be too low to be used..

The better swap would be to buy a Richmond 6 Speed where you will have 5 power gears and 1 overdrive, where 5th will be 1:1 ratio and 6th would be .76:1 ratio.. If you can get a hold of August 2001 Super Chevy Mag, they have an article where they swapped a Richmond 6 Speed into a 1970 Chev Camaro that came stock with a TH400 Auto Trans.. If you can get use of the T56's 6th gear .50:1 overdrive then you would need 4:10 or higher just to be able to use it without lugging your engine.. From the article, it seems like it is not that hard just a lot of work and time.. Also don't forget you will also to have to have a new Drive Line made but it is still possible as long as you are willing to take your time and set it up right, then you can get exceptional gas mileage with your car..

Have Fun with your 67 Camaro..

Charlie
