Tornado fuel saver?

Has anyone heard of or used this? It's a stainless steel slotted fan blade in a circular housing(also stainless steel) that inserts into your air hose between the air filter and tb. It's suppost to swirl the air to increase air velocity. "Dyno testing proves 4-13 hp gains." It's also suppost to help with gas milage by atomising the air/fuel mixture for more complete and efficient combustion in the combustion chambre. Here is the site address -http://directautoservice.com/howitworks.php
It's about $60. Any thoughts?

Has anybody ACTUALLY TRIED ONE though??? (that you'll admit to!!)

I'm curious as well if anybody has really tried it to prove them right/wrong??

Re: Tornado fuel saver?

you're better off buying a bottle of fuel injection cleaner and it's $55 cheaper.

Re: Tornado fuel saver?

I woulda tried one for ****s and giggles, but I don't have a place to mount it. After the air passes throught the MAF, which has a honeycomb mesh that straightens the airflow, there's all of about 4 inches before you hit the throttle body. And with my aftermarket "smooth bellows" that got me .2 hp, I'd be twisting the air down towards the block. It's more or less a restriction in my eyes.

Re: Tornado fuel saver?

^ ^ good point! It would have to go after the MAF to be as "effective" as it can be, but there's no room for it anyways . Ok, that's settled then!

Re: Tornado fuel saver?

Funny this thread comes up. I just put a SLP lid and K&N on my 00 TA and found a tornado in the boot between the MAF and the TB. Never knew it was there. I obviously took it out, but now it's got me wondering.

BTW, anybody who wants to try one can have mine for the price of shipping

Re: Tornado fuel saver?

Use the Tornado with the turbonator, splitfire plugs, and nology wires FTW! Helps to run synthetic blinker fluid too!
