Exactly, key word here is ""maybe"". Maybe it matters and maybe it does not at all, but, if there IS a bigger filter out there, I would rather use it just for peice of mind.

I would not be surprised if they just used a smaller filter to cut production costs and said "hey, its good enough, f*** it" lol.

yeah, thats the one. 2006 K & N. for other models just look up 2001 silverado with the v8, the 5.3 i believe.btw, its at most a dollar or two more, and they have always had them in stock, cant say that for the stock size.

I don't want a filter hanging anything below the pan. Sorry, tin foil testing physics....

well, hopefully it will not be THAT low, lol. I know the older chevy truck filters would do that for sure as they are at least a foot long.

it barely hangs any lower, itll hit the crossmember first, and if it does hit the filter, itll be after it rips your oil pan a new one.
