throttle body bypass

ok i am going to do the throttle body bypass but there seems to be a discrepancy on the size of hose needed. i realize both ends will be different where the hose connects. i do not want to add any couplers, but just keep the hose one size. i have been told to use a 1/4 inch hose the whole way but then i have been told to use a 5/16's hose the whole way. does anyone know which one it is?

FWIW, instead of hacking it together with the suggested "extension", just run the hose directly from the manifold to the radiator. Looks cleaner
