Thinkin about a Cam...Got a few ?'s

Ok i have an 02 Z28 M6 with only13000 miles. Mods i have done are:

Mosar 9-inch w/ 4.30
LT Headers ORY !Cats
Asp Pullies
Ram Stage 2 clutch
LS1 Edit
SFC
LCA
Free Mods

This car is not a daily driver it is more of a weekend car. I would like to know what would be the best cam for my setup. Also what else would i need to do it right? ie. RR, Pushrods, Lifters.....
Thanks in advance

only thing you have to do would be swap out the springs to accomodate the higher lift.

and as far as cam choices...what do you want to do?

you could go anywhere from a mild 224 cam and make 360rwhp or so

or jump up to something in the low 230s and put out nearly 400rwhp.

my 233/233 is putting out in the 390s for hp (with the new clutch) and is reasonably good on the street. i think some of my issues will be solved with more tuning.

tell us what you want and we can narrow it down more

Re: Thinkin about a Cam...Got a few ?'s

two weeks ago I put a TR230/224 in a friends 98Z m6. On a stock tune, the car is an animal. TR has a dyno graph with a 2000 TA with all the bolt ons with a 12 bolt with 4.30's putting down 410~415. The cam has very little surge to it, and pulls strong till 6600 it should pull to at least 6800 but the rev limiter is at 6600. One thing we both notice is the gears are super long. So your in ther with the 4.30 gears not to mention you got the rear end to put sticky tire on it so it can hook.

We put in the cam, springs, hardened PR's, LS6 oil pump, new timing chain. Your even better off b/c you got the asp pully and the LS6 intake.

420hp...give or take

don't take this as gospel, i have no personal experience to base this on. just what i've heard/read on here.

patriot heads are not very good. there are much better heads out there i think.
check out VRE in the sponsor list they have a great price on high flowing 5.3L heads.

Re: Thinkin about a Cam...Got a few ?'s

I dont know what kind of power i am getting (i have yet to be dynoed), but my cam makes my car a BEAST. Awesome agressive lope at idle, and super pickup and go in a power band similar to the stock setup. I didnt get heads, and i like the setup alot. I am hoping for at least 400, probably not though since i will be dynoing in Denver.
